Missing in Action....Rushed to Hospital

Well it's been a rough couple of weeks.  2 Saturdays ago, I had just stepped out of the shower and I had this sharp pain in the center of my chest that dropped me to my knees, it was the WORST pain I have ever experienced in my life, it shot around my back and up over my right shoulder.  I was crying (SCREAMING) in pain, curled up in a ball on the floor praying that God would make it stop.

Brett was at work, the kids were napping and I thought I was dying.  I called my neighbor and I could barely talk through the pain, she suggested I call the Nurse's Hotline on the back of my insurance card, so I did, she said I needed to call 911.  So I called my neighbor back and she came over (just in time for the boys waking up), she walked in the door and was on the phone with 911.

The fire department came along with an ambulance, they came in, hooked me up to an EKG machine to see if it was my heart, at this point the pain had slowed.  They said it would be best to take me to the hospital - so off I went.
Once there they hooked me up to all these machines, gave me a medicine "cocktail" and there I waited for the Dr.  When he came in he started pressing around below my rib cage, when he got to the right side I shot off the table he says "that would be your gallbladder", and ordered an ultrasound.

Results...I had "Sludge" in my gallbladder...basically a bunch of sand that caused the exit for my bile to get blocked.  Now anyone who has had this in their life...Knows that when I say it was the WORST pain EVER, they know that I'm not exagerating.  He said I was not in a life threatening state and so he sent me home after 5 1/2 hours, and wanted me to follow up with my Doctor - which I did and he says I can leave it in for now (and I could have another attack) or take it out.  So far I've opted to keep it in and try and cleanse it.  BUT...if I were to have another attack that baby is coming out!!!!

I'm new to your blog so this is my first time commenting, but I know the pain you are talking about. I had my first gall bladder attack and went in for an ultrasound. They said it could resolve on it's own. However, it didn't and as I was on a plane flying from Arizona to Ohio, my common bile duct became blocked and I turned yellow! I ended up needing emergency surgery!!
